Professor of Macroeconomics and International Economics, Department of Economics, Addis Ababa University
Alemayehu Geda is a professor of macroeconomics and international economics in the Department of Economics at Addis Ababa University and an adjunct professor at the Department of Economics at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. He is a sabbatical Research Fellow at the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in Cairo.
He is also a Research Associate at the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) in Nairobi and at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. He served as a Senior Lecturer at SOAS from 2003 to 2005 and as a professor at Addis Ababa University since then. He is also a fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences.
He has published widely, with over 60 articles and chapters in books, as well as six books on Ethiopian and African economies in reputable journals and with respected publishers. He has advised and conducted research for a dozen African countries and
several international organizations.
