THE QUEST FOR ECONOMIC AND MONETARY SOVEREIGNTY IN 21ST
CENTURY AFRICA: LESSONS TO BE LEARNT AND WAYS FORWARD
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung in collaboration with the Global Institute for Sustainable Prosperity – GISP and the network “Politics of money” organized the International Conference: “The quest for economic and Monetary Sovereignty in 21st Century Africa: lessons to be learnt and ways forward” from 6 to 9 November in the Cité de la Culture, Tunis.
This was the first conference of this scale organized in Africa on African economic and monetary sovereignty, which was attended by researchers, economic experts, activists, and journalists from Europe, the United States, India, and from different African countries, such as Prabhat Patnaik, Jan Kregel, Fadhel Kaboub, Heiner Flassbeck, Chibuike Uche, Daniela Gabor, Jerome Roos, Cedric Mbeng Mezui, Ndongo Samba Sylla and Kai Koddenbrock, and about thirty other panelists. During which they discussed monetary and economic sovereignty of our African countries and the future paths to ensure well-being, social justice, employment and a dignified life for the African people.
