Dr. Chérif Salif Sy is an intellectual, academic, researcher and lecturer.
His firm “Chérif Salif SY International Consultancy Services” C2S/ICS, develops training and consultancy activities for international organizations and national institutions. His fields of intervention are particularly the study of economic systems and productive structures. A former technical advisor with the rank and benefits of a Minister, he was the head of the OMEGA Plan initiated by President Abdoulaye Wade and co-chair of the NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development) Steering Committee. He is also the former Director General of the National Agency for Agricultural and Rural Consulting of Senegal (ANCAR).
Dr. SY is also a member of several scientific committees of major academic and non-academic institutions: the International Journal for Development Studies at Paris-Panthéon-Sorbonne IEDES; the Alternative Report on Africa in particular. Member of the Steering and Management Committee of the National Fund for Agricultural and Agri-Food Research of Senegal (FNRAA): President of the Scientific Committee of the first international conference on debt, with Jubilee South (2000).
His teaching activities, for more than 25 years, have focused on International Economic Relations, International Financial Techniques and International Trade, Economic Intelligence and Strategic Intelligence and in general on economic systems and productive structures.
