Biography

She has a Ph. D. in Sociology from Nelson Mandela University, a Master’s in Social Sciences from FLACSO Mexico, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Coahuila. She has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, the National School of Social Work, and the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Between 2012 and 2015, she served as the academic coordinator of the Specialty in Gender in Economics (UNAM), and as the Secretary of Gender Equity in the University Program for Gender Studies (UNAM). She has been a consultant for national and international organizations for the advancement of women and has also been a two-time fellow at the Institute for Critical Social Inquiry at the New School for Social Research in the political economy program, studying under professors such as Gayatri Spivak and Saskia Sassen. Her research topics include work and gender identities, and feminisms of the Global South, on which she has published in various academic journals. She is currently the senior program officer for gender and economics in Latin America and the Caribbean at IDEAS.
