MES Africa is thrilled to announce the second edition of its Conference on African Monetary and Economic Sovereignty. Building on the impactful 2019 Conference in Tunis, this year’s conference will be held in Dakar, Senegal. The event will bring together leading economists, policymakers, activists, and scholars from across Africa and beyond to explore innovative pathways toward economic self-determination and sustainable growth on the continent.

The Dakar Conference 2022 is a hybrid event.

All physical attendance is contingent upon receiving a personal invite from the organizing committee.

Online attendance only requires a Zoom Registration.

Discover the Location: Museum of Black Civilizations

The conference will be held in Dakar, on the first floor of the Museum of Black Civilizations.

The Museum of Black Civilizations is a national museum in Dakar, Senegal.

Opened on December 6th, 2018, the museum is intended as a meeting place and a space for dialogue between civilizations. With a total surface area of 15,000 m² on four levels, including nearly 5,000 m² of exhibition space, the authorities; stated ambition is to make it the largest museum on the continent dedicated to African civilizations.
